What our traveller guests say about us is more compelling than anything we might like to say about ourselves. So here is a selection of testimonials from our guests.
We intend to update this page consistently, with more recent testimonials appearing at the top:
Atmosphere was really good, very friendly people that try to create something else than just a simple hostel, with useful tips, different food, cheap drinks and alternative way of sleeping (tent as a room or dorm.). Location is good and connections are easy with the Falls or even the different buses.
As it opened not long ago, everything wasn’t perfect, but they try their best to offer you a pleasant stay nevertheless, don’t hesitate to tell if something bothers you, Nick will probably find a way!

The service was really good, the people there is really warm and polite. It’s a hostel with a different concept and has lots of things that you won’t find in other hostels like service of movies, books, the chance to sign on a van. The bar is excellent too there’s always music (classic rock for example), you can even cook a churrasco there, or even if you want to camp, wish is excellent, the kitchen is really big, complete, and always clean, and the breakfast is REALLY GOOD. We truly loved it

We absolutely loved our stay at the Favela Chic hostel. Nicholas, the owner, is one of the nicest people you will meet and was extremely accommodating in any request, question, or problem that we had. The hostel is built as an ideal place to hang around for a few days, along with being an ideal launch pad to see the Iguacu falls on both the Brazilian and Argentinean side. We also bought ticket to the Itaipu Hydro-Electric dam tour, which were cheaper than buying the tickets at the Itaipu Dam itself. There is a lovely bar in the hostel and everything is more than reasonably priced. As people who have been in hostels all over South America, New Zealand, Australia, Nepal and India, this is one of the warmest and nicest places that we have ever stayed at. This is without even mentioning the huge English breakfast and the freshly squeezed orange juice that were served in the morning, or the all around positive and lively atmosphere.

We had decided that we would stay at the Favela Chic Hostel because it seemed the nicest place on Hostelworld. When we arrived our expectations were more than satisfied. The place is a really colourful, warm, unique and charming place. We especially liked the amount of possibilities to relax outside and the artwork which you can find everywhere in the hostel. In the end we felt kind of like it was home, also because the owners are really kind and helpful. We actually were the first people there to sleep in a tent outside, which wasn’t too different to sleeping in a bed especially because the hostel is in a really silent neighbourhood.

We have stayed a day in the Favela Chic Hostel in Foz do Iguassu. It’s a really very, very nice place, friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere. I can recommend everybody who wants to spend time in Foz do Iguassu to stay here. I have been to many hotels, hostels and luxury resorts all over the world but for me nothing beats the cosy place with the friendly staff where you feel at home and are treated as family.
So I wish the people of Favela Chic all the luck and the best to make this hostel the leading one in the area. They deserve it!

Almost better than having seen the waterfalls is the fact that we`ve stayed at this really nice hostel here. It is really unique in its style and with its familiar ambience and though it was just for one night we felt really at home here. So leaving this place we just hope that we`ll have many more experiences like this on our further travels that will take us to Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador for the next two and a half months.

The best hostel I have stayed in so far in Brazil. Although it wasn’t even totally finished yet the staff was always very helpful. I arrived late in the afternoon but because of the staff I was still able to see the Brazilian side of the falls that day. The dorm was really cool and clean and around the hostel was a relaxing vibe. Thank you so much Nick and Rosana for your help, good luck with everything.

Hey Ho, Fellow Travellers,
The magnificent Favela Chic Hostel!!!
Nick just opened up this nice hostel with a special flavour two weeks ago. Some parts are still under construction but you already gonna have an idea what it’s gonna be like. There’s gonna be a swimming pool, an old van that’s gonna be a private double bedroom soon. There’s a big relaxing area with a nice bar in the front, two dorms, wifi, a big kitchen, tv set and a lot of space for a hot churrasco.
So folks, I can highly recommend this unique place. It’s perfectly located for all who want to see the waterfalls on both sides or to head to Buenos Aires or the other way. Nick, the owner gonna help you out with everything.
So all I can say is: le favela chic is indeed tres chic!

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the place. The ambience was very relaxed and although not everything was finished, you could see what Nick and Rosana have in mind for the hostel. We’ve enjoyed our stay at Favela Chic Hostel very much! Its location is near the bus stop and a few minutes’ walk to the supermarket and city centre. The way the hostel is designed makes you feel right at home. Combine this with a staff that will help you as much as they can and have a lot of knowledge of the surroundings and you will probably never forget your time in this hostel. Our compliments to Nick and Rosana for initiating this great hostel, we wish them good luck with fulfilling their dream!

A friend and I stayed 2 nights at the Favela Chic Hostel and had an awesome time. As we arrived we were instantly welcomed as if we were family. The theme and colours of the outdoor relaxation and bar area created a nice happy environment. It was extremely clean and the couple Nick and Rosana were a great help. They organised our trip to the Argentina side of the falls and cooked the best brekkie we´ve come across in 5 months travelling. The location is a lil 15min bus ride to Foz do iguasu falls from just outside the hostel. Couldn´t ask for more really… they even offered a lift to the bus terminal.

Great hostel!! We had an awesome time there and the owners are really nice people! They just opened the place so there are small things that not done but other then that – good people really close to a bus station to the waterfalls and to the Argentinian side!! Read the directions how to get there.. Good luck with the place! And thanks for everything!!

A clean and comfortable hostel which met all our needs. The owners are friendly, very helpful and multilingual. The outside area and bar is a lovely area to relax and socialise. The hostel is spaceous with room for some quiet time if required. We stayed in the hostel just one week after opening. There are further developments to be made to the hostel such as a swimming pool and favela rooms, which will make this an even more interesting place to stay. A good supermarket is just 5 minutes away.
